(Apr. 9 5:10 PM) - Following the success of The SPACE Tour, internet sensation Team StarKid announces a second national tour: APOCALYTOUR, featuring a cast of StarKid veterans performing hits from the company’s acclaimed original comedy musicals A Very Potter Musical, A Very Potter Sequel, Me and My Dick, and Starship, as well as their latest parody show Holy Musical B@man!. APOCALYPTOUR will launch at the House of Blues in Chicago on Wednesday, May 9, and culminate in New York City at the Roseland Ballroom on Sunday, June 10.

(Apr. 4 5:08 PM) - An initial line-up of organizations that will present 2011 American Theatre Critics Association Francesca Primus Prize winning playwright Caridad Svich’s new play THE WAY OF THE WATER has been announced. This work, which is about the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon BP oil spill and its effects on human health and the environment in the US Gulf region, is being made available for local presentations during the month of April (and selected venues in May) to mark the two-year anniversary of the spill and to raise increased awareness toward health and environmental concerns, by NoPassport theatre alliance & press, an unincorporated collective dedicated to the advocacy, production and publication of works expressive of cross-cultural and aesthetic diversity in the arts.

(Apr. 3 2:53 PM) - Rachel Wallace is currently touring with the first national tour of MARY POPPINS. Rachel is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She loved performing such shows as West Side Story and Sunday in the Park with George. Rachel was previously part of the ensemble of the company before taking over the lead in MARY POPPINS.

From the moment the lights dimmed, you couldn’t help but be drawn into the story of struggle and survival as young Billy and his family worked through many issues. Many could relate to the struggles and emotions in this little family.

(Mar. 30 8:39 PM) - Different Stages continues its 2011 – 2012 season with Murder on the Nile, one of Dame Agatha's most popular mysteries. Simon Mostyn has recently married the beautiful, wealthy Kay Ridgeway, having thrown over his former lover Jacqueline. The couple is on their honeymoon and is at present on a paddle steamer on the Nile. With them are Kay's guardian, and Jacqueline, who has been dogging their footsteps all through the honeymoon. Also on the boat are a rich, ill-tempered woman and her niece, a rather direct young man, a doctor who nurses a grudge against Kay's father, and Kay's maid. During the voyage? well, you'll just have to see what happens.
