After the release of their self-titled debut-and a "Spotlight" feature on "Last Call with Carson Daly" this week-The Two (Ara Starck and David Jarre) will perform March 14 in a SXSW at Austin club Mohawk, March 17 at Hotel Utah in San Francisco, and March 28 at New York's (Le) Poisson Rouge.

Starck and Jarre met seven years ago in Paris. She was a buzzed-about young painter; he was working as a magician. Two years ago, they decided to form a musical duo. The starting point for The Two was a song called "I Wanna Be With You Again," which they recorded together at home in 2009. According to press notes, "The debut album is a reminder of the magic of uncluttered melody, primary sound colors and simple words. It is, in large part, the strength, elegance and naturalness of The Two's vocal harmonies that distinguish their sound. The music reveals their individual and shared charms, melancholy and solitude. Whether they choose to sing in unison, or in call-and-response, the songs tell the story of two people sharing mutual affinity and an equal dose of turbulence."

The upcoming shows follow several showcases in the U.S.: The Annie O Music Series at The Standard East in NYC; the ASCAP Music Series at the Sundance Film Festival; the International Music Series at the new Hotel Modern New Orleans; Joe's Pub and (Le) Poisson Rouge in New York; and Hotel Café in Los Angeles.
